Flight Path Revision Returns 260 Adelaide West Plans to Full Height

July 22, 2026

A provincial revision to one of Downtown Toronto’s protected hospital helicopter flight paths has put the 61-storey redevelopment of 260 Adelaide Street West back on course after more than two years in limbo. First submitted in December, 2021 at 60 storeys, the proposal designed by Sweeny &Co Architects for CentreCourt and Rexton Developments in partnership with CreateTO, was revised to 61 storeys (196.8m), and its rezoning was approved by City Council in July, 2022.

However, stricter airspace controls introduced in January, 2024 threatened its approved height. Following further study, however, led to Ontario Regulation 161/26, filed in May, 2026, which has now reshaped the western flight corridor serving St Michael’s Hospital, allowing the previous zoning permissions to be used again.
